Hermione’s First Kiss
Hermione settled back on the grass of the paddock near the Burrow and watched as Harry Potter and Ginny and Ron Weasley flew back and forth playing a makeshift game of Quidditch.
While she watched, Hermione couldn't help but smile about the kiss she had received from Ron before he had mounted his broom and shot up into the air. It had been slow, passionate and very nice. It had certainly been better than their first kiss.
Ron and Hermione's first kiss had been during the short time they stayed at the Dursley's to keep Harry company. The kiss had been quick, awkward, almost clumsy. And, while the kiss had not been pre-planned, it certainly had been repeatedly rehearsed mentally and long anticipated by both of them. That's why, when Hermione was totally honest with herself, she had to admit that she was a little surprised at how amateurish their first kiss had really been. Even so, it had still been . . . magical.
Hermione almost giggled out loud at the thought of "magical" to describe their first kiss. Oh well, no one could read her mind. At least she hoped, and she involuntarily looked around as if expecting some dark wizard to step out from among the trees and laugh evilly at her silly thoughts. After a moment of reassuring herself, she went back to thinking about her and Ron's first kiss.
It had taken them awhile to actually get up the nerve to kiss. Ron had to gain experience and self confidence by giving his first kiss to and then snogging the socks off of Lavender Brown. It was painful for Hermione to watch the two of them and she still found herself wishing cruel and unpleasant thoughts about her roommate over that relationship. But then, Ron had to get over the fact that Hermione had kissed Victor Krum.
Ron had been very angry when Ginny had blurted out about Hermione kissing Krum. What a mess that had made. Still, Hermione was glad Ginny had told her brother about Victor. It made it a lot easier for Ron to think Hermione's first kiss had been with Krum. It was better that way; better that Ron not know about her truly first kiss.
Hermione felt heat rising to her face at the very thought of that first kiss; or, should she say first kisses. It had been totally unexpected and incredibly wonderful when she was cornered and then kissed by the twins.
Well, okay. She wasn't kissed by both at the same time. First was George who took her face in his hands, shushed her protestations and kissed her. Then Fred had gently turned her face toward him and kissed her. Then George had kissed her again and then . . .
"Hermione! Hermione, are you okay?"
Hermione jumped and turned to see Ron staring down at her with a puzzled expression. "W-what did you say Ron?"
"I asked if you're okay. I called to you from up above and you didn't answer and . . . Hermione, you're blushing."
"I'm what?" Hermione quickly raised her hands to her flushed face. "Oh, I . . . um . . ."
"Why are you blushing?"
"B-because of our kiss before you went flying," Hermione lied.
Ron's ears turned a bright red and he grinned. "Yeah, it was nice."
"It definitely was," Hermione answered, this time being completely honest.
Ron leaned down and planted another long, passionate kiss on Hermione's lips before again mounting his broom and kicking off from the grass into the air.
Hermione watched him fly away as she softly touched her lips with her fingers. They were still wet, warm and tingling. Yes, she thought contentedly, she liked how Ron kissed. It must run in the Weasley blood. Next chance she had, she was going to tell, no, show Ron how much she enjoyed kissing him. But she was definitely not going to tell him about her very first kiss.
